Sharp Shinned Hawk

These pictures were taken on April 21st, 2010 in our back yard unfortunately. These guys love small birds and can pick them right out of the air. This one has been playing havoc in our back yard as we have a couple feeders that many small birds love. Unfortunately, this guy has noticed this and has been visiting our back yard quite frequently. I'm hoping that he moves on soon.

These pictures were taken on April 13th, 2010 on Lake Huron, not far from our home. These pictures were taken laying on my belly at the edge of the water with a camouflage net over me.

Goldfinch, male

These pictures were taken on April 10th, 2010 in our back yard. This guy seems to be a little late in getting his breeding plumage as the other males had all of their breeding plumage. Possibly he's a juvenile and therefore is a little late in getting his breeding plumage.

Bufflehead Duck, male

These pictures were taken on April 13th, 2010 on Lake Huron, not far from our home. These pictures were taken laying on my tummy at waters edge with a camouflage net draped over me. It wasn't a very comfortable position, but it was worth it as it gives you the perspective of what the duck sees while swimming around.
