Red Winged Blackbird

This photo was taken on 28th January 2008 at Bentsen, Rio Grande State Park, Texas. Everyone is familiar with Red Winged Blackbirds and anyone here in the valley is certainly familiar with them as there are 10's of thousands of them here. Normally, only males congregate here and I'm not sure where the females go, but it's somewhere else. This year seems to be a little different as there are a few females here: not many, but a few.
