These pictures were taken on April 21 & 29th, 2009 in our back yard. These guys can be a bit of a nuisance but the male certainly is beautiful during breeding season if you can catch him displaying his red patch.

You can tell you're looking at a Fred Walsh photo when you are staring at the reflection in a "birds eye." Another round of fantastic shots throughout.
It's easy to see why sports teams were inspired to use birds as their team icons. Very cool. Very sharp.
