Florida Purplewing

These pictures were taken on November 24th, 2009 at NABA Butterfly Park, Mission Texas. This is a very rare butterfly and only occurs in the southern most tip of Florida and occassionally in Southern Texas. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get a picture of him with his wings spread apart as it's the upper part of his wings that are so beautiful.

Apparently they got their name from the white marks on the underside of the wing. I guess to some people it looks like a question mark. I must not have my glasses on straight.
