Rose Breasted Grosbeak, Male




These pictures were taken on 9th January, 2008 at Bentsen Rio Grande Valley State Park, Texas. This is a male in winter plummage. Note the similarities to the female plummage, except of course for the pink bib. He's eating Pigeon berries and loving it.






Cassin's Sparrow

This picture was taken on 6th January, 2008 at Falcon State Park, Texas. These guys have a limited range in semi-arid areas of south central United States and Mexico.

Pyrrhuloxia

These pictures were taken on 6th January, 2008 at Falcon State Park, Texas. They look similar to the female Cardinal.



Orange Crowned Warbler

These pictures were taken at Dewin's, Texas on 6th January, 2008. He's eating Pigeon berries.
