Texas Wasp Moth

These pictures were taken on December 25th (yup, Christmas day), 2008 at Bentsen Palm Village RV Resort, Mission Tx. I've published pictures of this guy before, but to me, he's fascinating. It's natures way of trying to make him look and act like a paper wasp and nature sure has done a good job except that maybe his coloring is a little too flamboyant. Nature has done this to make predators think it's a wasp rather than a moth.

There's a lot of nature, particularly small things that most people don't even realize exist. Maybe the real butterflyer's know something that us ordinary folks don't know or appreciate.
