Rose Breasted Grosbeak, Male




These pictures were taken on 9th January, 2008 at Bentsen Rio Grande Valley State Park, Texas. This is a male in winter plummage. Note the similarities to the female plummage, except of course for the pink bib. He's eating Pigeon berries and loving it.

Thanks Kathy. I actually got photographed by a German reporter while taking these pics. He was doing an article on the Rio Grande Valley for a German newspaper.
