Great Tailed Grackle

This picture was taken on February 25th, 2009 at the Bentsen Rio Grande Valley State Park, Mission Texas. This is the largest of the North American Grackles and measures up to 18" in length. Throughout the last century they have slowly been increasing their range northward from Mexico into many of the southern States.
