Red Headed Woodpecker

These pictures were taken on May 10th, 2009 in our back yard. These guys will store food such as insects and seeds and they store it in tree crevices, under bark or even under shingles. They will store live Grasshopper's by wedging them in a crevice so they can't move. They are also very territorial and will remove eggs from other birds nests and even destroy nests.
